Traffic Monsoon Review

What is/ was Traffic Monsoon?Traffic Monsoon Banner Squashed

Traffic Monsoon started in October 2014 it was a revenue sharing site in the Advertising area. The product was a three tier combination scheme, which combines Pay-To-Click (PTC) a Traffic Exchange and Revenue Sharing.

Traffic Monsoon was not and never should have been considered to be an investment vehicle.

It did however make an awful lot of money for it’s owner, the early joiners and the savvy top marketers.

There are many sites of this type on the internet now and more seem to be coming on stream every other day.

Although this type of scheme has been about in various forms for a few years now, it can be said that My Advertising Pays (MAPs) started this latest and most profitable form in 2013. MAPs is still in existence but no longer able to trade in the U.S.A.

Are you still wondering why these types of revenue sharing sites are on the increase, well without doubt it is because they have proved very profitable for their owners and the early promoters.

Now, I personally have no problem whatsoever with companies or indeed the people promoting companies or opportunities and making profits. They should however, have to be a certain amount of openness and honesty, and not be in existence to the detriment of the very people they are looking to attract and supposedly help.

Anyone looking to place money into this type of product, have to understand that there is always risk involved when purchasing products in advertising revenue sharing sites. Therefore if you can not afford to take the risk with the money you are requested to place in them, just participate as a free member. Be aware though that you will not make any money to speak of or have many benefits within the program.

Traffic Monsoon, like many other similar schemes gave you the option to free membership and in return for clicking adverts for a certain length of time and rewarded you with a very

minuscule amount of credit. Further more dependant on their terms and conditions, they may allow you to recruit others and or advertise on their sites.

How did Traffic Monsoon Work.

Basically it is a combination of 3 elements bolted together. The 3elements are:-

  1. PTC (Pay To Click) – You gain rewards, either credits or money (less than pennies) for clicking other members EXTRA ads for a set period of time.

  2. Traffic Exchange – To stay active and earning a share of the scheme’s revenue you have to click a number of advertisements for a minimum period of time.

  3. Revenue Sharing – To participate daily in a small share of the profits from the scheme’s advertising revenue (paid members only ).

The idea and the hook behind this business was that you purchased ad-packs for $50 each and after a period of about two months you would receive $55 as a return on each maturing ad-pack. During the two months prior to the ad-pack maturing you are required to click 10 adverts every 24 hour period to remain as an active member and qualify for your daily revenue share. In the meantime you would have had a number of your adverts showcasing your other business/es to all the other members of the scheme and potentially other advertisers. The mechanics effectively nullifies the advertising cost to you within this scheme.Proof of Income

Additionally as a paid up member you are automatically an affiliate and able to attract other members to the scheme, and would receive a 10% commission bonus on their ad-pack purchases for the lifetime of their and your membership.

Traffic Monsoon not only promoted the purchase of their ad-packs at $50 (maturing at 110% ROI) and the affiliate commissions of 10% for introducing new members. They also had what they termed as other advertising products, which were the selling of banner ads, credit ads, and cashlink ads, these were all generating revenue from their own members. This according to Traffic Monsoon (Charles David Scoville) showed that the company was a legitimate business selling advertising.

The Position of Traffic Monsoon Now.

The United States S.E.C. Filed a complaint at the federal court in Salt Lake City Utah on 26th July 2016, which alleges that Traffic Monsoon LLC and Charles David Scoville, (the company’s only member) operated an internet-based Ponzi scheme that they falsely represented to investors was an advertising company.

This scheme has raised more than $207 million from investors worldwide, mainly from the U.S., Canada, UK, Russia and India.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, alleges that more than 99% of Traffic Monsoon’s revenue was derived from new investor funds, thus making Charles Scoville’s claim that it was a successful advertising business a total illusion, and violated a number of sections under the Securities Act of 1933 and others under the Securities and Exchange Act of 1934.

As at the 28th July 2016 all the company’s assets have been frozen, Traffic Monsoon is no longer open for business and the receivers have been called in. The company will be totally closed in due course.

This Ponzi scheme has been officially stopped and will not start up again.

The Speed at which the The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission acted, showed the work that had been undertaken prior to the 26th July 2016.

Just the fact that Traffic Monsoon was closed down so quickly by the authorities confirms what a lot of us suspected for a long time,        Traffic Monsoon was A Ponzi Scam!

TM Charles Scoville Thunbs Down

It is understood that Charles Scoville has left his Utah base and flown to Dubai, I’m sure it will only be a matter of time before he is arrested and interviewed.

Charles Scoville has had a bad history of running a number of failed PTC sites over the past few years. He started and folded BuxSecure, he started up and shut it down (due to a Payza legal issue). AdHitProfits is his longest running PTC site but for how long?

BELOW is a transcript of the SEC announcement – Litigation Release No 23604:-

Litigation Release No. 23604 / July 28, 2016
Securities and Exchange Commission v. Traffic Monsoon et al., No. 2:16-cv-00832-JNP (D. Utah filed July 26, 2016)
SEC Halts $207 Million Internet-Based Ponzi Scheme

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that it has obtained an asset freeze against the operator of a Utah-based international Ponzi scheme that raised more than $207 million from investors worldwide, primarily in the U.S., India and Russia.

In a complaint filed in federal court in Salt Lake City on July 26, the SEC alleges that Traffic Monsoon LLC and Charles Scoville, the company’s only member operated an Internet-based Ponzi scheme that they falsely represented to investors was an advertising company. According to the SEC complaint, Scoville began operating Traffic Monsoon in October 2014 as a combination Internet traffic exchange and pay-per-click program and recruited more than 162,000 investors around the world. According to the complaint, although Traffic Monsoon markets itself as a highly successful company, nearly all of its revenue is generated by other investors, not its products or services. The complaint alleges that more than 99% of Traffic Monsoon’s revenue is derived from new investor funds, making claims that it is a successful advertising business merely an illusion.

The SEC’s complaint alleges that Traffic Monsoon and Scoville violated Sections 5(a), 5(c) and 17(a)(1) and (3) of the Securities Act of 1933 and Section 10(b) of the Securities and Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5(a) and (c) thereunder. Among other things, the SEC’s complaint seeks permanent injunctions, prohibiting further violations of the laws charged, disgorgement of ill-gotten gains plus prejudgment interest and civil penalties from Traffic Monsoon and Scoville.

The SEC’s investigation was conducted by Alison Okinaka, Scott Frost and Cheryl Mori of the SEC’s Salt Lake Regional Office. Daniel Wadley is leading the SEC’s litigation.
